Speculative at best. Guys with mid round and even 2nd day projections went undrafted. Brandon Coleman received a 3rd round grade from the league's advisory board, I think. I'm pretty sure nobody here knew who Sam was before he came out.

 

Sexuality shouldn't be a distraction, especially when we live in a country where our laws dictate that it shouldn't. The fact that he is average in your eyes shouldn't be the deciding factor as there were numerous average to below average players selected before him.

I don't want to put words into your mouth, but doesn't it suggest that he is being discriminated against because he is "average" and players of lesser talent were selected before him because he is perceived as someone that might be a distraction?

Is it OK in standard practice to deny employment to people of protected status due to the perceived possibility that they might be a distraction to the workplace? I can't buy into that logic myself, and in doing so it open up a huge "Pandora's box."

 

My understanding is that his net worth is near $5 million since "coming out."

 

It's not his sexuality that's the distraction. You still don't seem to get that so there's no point in me yelling at you.

 

If calling him "******" and asserting that you "hope he dies of AIDS" isn't about sexuality then WTF is?

You should probably carefully read a thread before riding in on your high horse and judging everyone else. Nobody here cares that he's gay. The problem people have with this is the ridiculous liberal media telling us what we should and shouldn't think about homosexuality. Some people find it gross and unnatural (and it is).

You toss words like "liberal" and "gross and unnatural" around like a Tea Party religious conservative. While I admire people w/ strong opinions to a degree, I think you should ask yourself just how "Christ-like" it is to wish AIDS and death on people who have a mere disagreement of opinion with you? Perhaps you'll come around some day.
