Nobody talked about him before he looked great at the combine, which I've grown to become paranoid about.

Yeah some people said Bitonio could (eventually?) start but no one had him close to a first round grade. I am pretty sure he was going in the third or later in early mocks.

Gross was pegged at/around the top of his class all the way as I recall.

I've said it before but I think the NFL is pretty good at scooping up talent. It's totally possible 10+WR's will be taken before our pick at 60. While the position is deep 10 players deep at the position takes away a lot of that "depth".
I can see other positions getting pushed down because of it. Specifically DB's and Dline and RB. Not that we should take a RB in the first two days. One of the top CB's could fall to us at 28 or someone like Jernigan or Shazier. There is gonna be value at the pick. While WR is a big need are we better off taking talent at 28 or forcing someone like Davante Adams there. Maybe getting someone like Norwood or Moncrief in the 3rd wouldn't be that bad.

The 49ers traded down from 31 last year to 18 with the cowboys to land eric reid for a 3rd rounder.

If we could land a move down with just giving up our 3rd for a prospect that falls out of the top 10 like one of the OT I would not mind that kind of move just giving up a 3rd if it was possible. Just happens the Cowboys are right there in the 16 spot this year in that 11-13 spot move down and might be looking to do the same kind of deal.

Keep in mind one important difference between a 1st and 2nd round pick in that only the 1st round ones have the 5th year option. That means there's a lot of incentive to move up to get a quarterback rather than wait, but it also means it should be worth your while to move down. You don't necessarily expect a guy drafted 28th to end up being worth a fifth year salary equal to the top ten at his position, but it's possible.
