Ok, Free Agency in Carolina will be luke warm at best...draft time:

Players I like in round 1:
    Calvin Pryor - S - Louis - Pro Bowler I love dude, a GREAT S prospect IMO.
Jason Verrett - CB - TCU - attitude of a star and will not fail IMO.
Marquees Lee - WR - USC - dropping with slight frame and injuries I think he is there but do you take him above...
Kelvin Benjamin - WR - FSU - incredible potential with that frame, with work ethic he will not fail. Probably never an incredible WR but will be a mismatch at WR if not eventually TE.
Morgan Moses - a little soft but top 20 talent at LT.
    Round 2:
Allen Robinson WR Penn St - possession guy but competitive. Leader.
Paul Richardson WR Colorado - A ton of talent if he can handle NFL pounding.
Cyrus Kouandjio - OT - Alabama - knee a major concern but might be worth it.
    Round 3:
Antonio Richardson - injury concerns but huge and agile.
Donte Moncrief - crazy sleeper if the lights come on. Every measurable you want.
Cyril Richardson - OG - Baylor - Huge dude with powerful punch. Love this guy.
Colt Lyerla - TE - Oregon - off the field issue galore but a seriously talent pass catching TE.
Jordan Matthews - Good production but appears to be a little like just another guy. Still good size.
    Round 4:
Arthur Lynch - big guy but a little slow...good hand and can block.
Cornelius Lucas - gigantic man, with surprise movement. Not many humans this big that can play sports.
Ronald Powell - Fla - OLB - hurt a ton but crazy talented if he could stay healthy.

    A few additional comments:
James Hurst was never as great as was advertised but he can stay in front of most DEs in college...probably doesn't play year 1 but a worth pick late as a backup.
An underrated position in this draft is Safety. Haha Dix of Bama is extremely talented. Pryor is a serious player.
I like Carlos Hyde in the NFL. Someone will hit on him.
The WR crop at the top would worry me. I am not love with with the top 3 guys. Watkins highlight real is killer but he is running free many, many plays. Mike Evans has a great frame but not sure he'll get separation. Lee gets hurt a lot but the debate starts with him. GREAT athlete and natural WR is he stays healthy. Cooks is an incredibly fluid player with great desire. Benjamin is VERY raw but cannot ignore the size.
Zach Martin is overrated but solid.

    Biggest sleepers:
Lamarcus Joyner - CB\S - Fla State - Small but great athlete and a winner. I love this guy.
DeAnthony Thomas - KR - yes, KR and backup RB. He's is all about speed and will need to be protected as he is SO SMALL. Still, get him an open lane to the end zone and goodbye so he is valuable.

Prediction: Not 1 QB in this class is in the NFL in 5 yrs. I would not pick ANY of them.
Clowney's career will be similar to Julius Peppers...good but just good enough to stick.
The best player out of this draft will be one of these: Taylor Lewan, Kony Ealy or Calvin Pryor.

    My dream draft

1 OT Zach Martin - frame and short arms cause him to slip a little and we get him at 28 and plug him in at one of the OT spots

2 WR Jordan Matthews - good size and ultra productive at highest levels. Proved has decent speed at combine.

3 OT Billy Turner (ND St) - size and ability to play either OT spot

4 CB Pierre Desir (Lindenwood) - long and athletic good potential

5 WR Matt Hazel (Coastal) - size speed and hands.

I like Matthews a little but he is slight in his frame (LaFell is bigger by comparison)...small school guys hit (in terms of your other picks)...(in draft history since 97) around 10% of the time. There is a reason they aren't playing in the SEC.

Not being a dick, I hope, but the big conf draft strategy seems to work.
No one can hide from the digital hype.

They will probably pick Martin there however. Well, maybe.

I don't like the pick of Kugbila in the last draft. I mean that was a dick pick as this dude was serious unknown from a serious left field place. Gettleman was trying to look cool. Don't like it.

Yeah, combine guy...but did nothing great there. There were much better players there.

    In this draft:
Get the best player at a high impact position
Forget the "filling the holes" mentality. We have pros at all positions. That includes Bell...people on this board kill this guy. He was ok. Some players will be ok.
This team must keep Cam Newton. We have to pay this man whatever. He is on track for a Hall of Fame career.
Filling in with solid players is ok...the Seahawks were good at enough positions to dominate.

Carolina is fine...staying out of FA is GOOD THING.

I will also chime in on Hakeem Nicks: 1 yr deal or 2 yrs at most. He has got to prove himself. I love the "potential' of Nicks but Gettle is CRAZY to think he is the #1 guy here. DRAFT a WR otherwise.

Gettlemen seems to know what is important...franchise the pass rusher...and get ready to sign Newton. Draft well and we could get there.
Panthers fans need to be very happy with what is happening.

For the record, I liked your initial post because I appreciated the effort, not because I agreed with your evaluations of the players (because I didn't). But now you've run the train off the rails and through the neighborhood, killing little Kenny and the puppy he was playing with.

I am honered you like the post. :smilejap:

I don't think Bell is that terrible...just don't. No he isn't a pro bowler but we can't have one at every postion. Cam's numbers don't lie and if his curve continues upward he will have that HOF chance. I believe that.
