    What was he, the 9th pick (wasn't that the year Minnisota didn't get their pick in?)? Pretty solid choice. Not the best in the league or dominating ever, but never a worry. Never a problem. Wish all our picks panned out like that.

    I think it was time for him, he was on the decline. Lifelong Panther, definitely wish him the best.

    I don't suppose he's the type who'd be likely to unretire once camp is over and the team is desperate.

    Not going to happen. I heard him interviewed today on Sirius. He is working out and losing weight. Down to 275 now and said he will likely be around 250 by training camp.

    Byron Bell has been a serviceable right tackle for the Panthers the past few years

    When Gettleman signs Bell long-term and makes him the new left tackle, should we laugh hysterically or commit suicide? Both?
