I know lameducking Fox was a disaster, but I still would have preferred it here. I expect the defense to be good in 2014, but not as unrealistically good as it was this season, and as a result I'm on record for 7-9. The guy rightly could have been fired if Carolina had lost to the Giants, so the extension means everything since the Giants game matters more than the two and change years that came before it.

Still not sold on him but after this season you gotta give the man something or we'd never get a decent coach to sign here. We'd be the Cleveland Browns of the AFC.

I just hope JR won't be scared to drop the ************ like a bad habit if things go south in the next year or two.

I'm not sold on him and we could very well sink back to mediocrity, but I feel much better about this team than I did three years ago. I didn't want us to break things apart like a petulant child just because we lost in the playoffs.

Jerry has money coming out of his asshole, so if he wants to fire Rivera after we shit the bed next season, that's fine with me too.

He won't, though. Jerry is cheap, so it would take something like 4-12 or worse. If the Panthers get 6 to 8 wins then you have three bad seasons and one good one, with two and possibly three more seasons to go. If you really don't want a lameduck situation then add one year.

Can you guys please quit trying to fuck up the good vibes from this year? Just enjoy the success and expect it to continue until proven otherwise.:panthers:

I did want a shorter extension. I didn't want another lameduck scenario.
