It's a morbidly fascinating situation that Cleveland has created for themselves. I can't wait to see who they have to hire. Gase will probably realize that he can wait another year or two for a better situation.

    Jim Caldwell on the Lions:

"We're going to be a football team that's not going to shoot itself in the foot."

This is the same guy who once called timeouts for the opponent in a playoff game.

I hope they have gotten some indication that he is interested in them. Would be humorous if he said no after they waited on him this long

I don't have a clue who Gase is or if he'd be a good hire, as I'd never heard of him before this season, but the rumor is that colleagues are telling him not to take the job. I don't know if he should or shouldn't. As much of a coach-killing dysfunctional mess as Cleveland has been for the last twenty years, it's still an NFL head coaching job and you get paid a huge amount of money even if they do fire you after one season.

Yeah I don't feel sorry for Chud. Well, very sorry anyway. Sucks a little because it was his childhood team, and it's like the third time they ran him off. But it's still 10 million in his bank account.

edit: I DO feel sorry for the fans of the Browns, who have been shat on for decades and it isn't looking like that's changing.

Yeah, I feel like he's been a good coach aside from his unconditional support of Mark Sanchez.

They're going after Bill Belichick as soon he's free to talk. He's no doubt interested in clearing his record in Cleveland.
