To an extent, but regardless of what happens today, the New Orleans games are the ones that really matter.

Normally I'd say that you're not running on the 49ers because of Navorro Bowman and Patrick Willis, but they haven't been quite as dominant as usual (the Panthers are actually better), perhaps because of their injuries at NT and Justin Smith not being what he was. Still, it is going to be tough sledding. I imagine the Panthers will use more 3 WR formations in order to get one of those star ILBs off the field as much as possible, maybe split Olsen out wide as well although Shula doesn't seem to like doing that.

Despite a reputation for a leaky secondary, San Francisco is 4th best in completion percentage allowed with 57.2% (Carolina is 3rd worst at 67.1%). The problem area for them has been pass rush, where their 17 sacks tie with Tampa for sixth worst. I'm not expecting much from Aldon Smith after a long layoff, but who knows. Interestingly, Ginn really might be the key for the offense this week. The protection needs to hold up and Cam needs to hit him a couple of times both to create yards and to free up underneath stuff.

Its kind of hard to forget what happened earlier this year when the Panthers made a trip to the other side of the Mississippi to play a team worse than the 49ers.
Hoping for the best, but won`t be surprised with a loss.

I'm pretty much good with any outcome other than us getting prison raped for 4 quarters... I'd love to win but if we loose a close one to a good team as long as we don't gift wrap that ************ like we are known to do I won't loose my shit today. Figured pretty much the best outcome for the next 2 is a split so if we were to get a W today we playing with house money at that point.

I really want to see the Panthers step up and win but in San Fran is a tall task. Their offensive line is one of the best but this is one if the best Panther front seven in years. Cam has GOT to play smart. It won't be a blow out

If you want to be an elite front seven, these are the games you need to show up in. Otherwise you're just the bully of the retarded schoolyard.

Nice special team play. Cam needs to get rid of the ball
