He's Gone then!!!

 

It's be hard t criticize hiring him at the time. I think most thought he was a strong candidate. The problem is not seeing the faults after two seasons. He even admitted after the first year he was in over his head a bit. It's s frustrating to see us burn at least one time out per half for no reason.

 

Bullshit on all of this. Rivera didn't fumble the ball at the climax of the Seattle game. Rivera didn't get a defensive holding penalty when we intercepted Buffalo at the climax of today's game. TWO ill-fated plays that ultimately give us an 0-2 record when we could potentially have a 2-0 record.

My biggest problem today? Our last drive. We should have played like Buffalo was in the lead and did our best to score another TD. Dammit, we should have passed on third down and tried to get a first down, rather than getting a FG and relying on defense. Was that Rivera or Shula's decision? I know it all comes back to the HC, so perhaps I am contradicting myself. Although we showed pretty good dicipline in the first two weeks, those aforementioned mistakes came at very inopportune times.

I'm bummed. Even more bummed with the injuries we sustained.

 

Not from looking back at those threads. It seemed like most were ok with it, but no one was enthusiastic. I found a post of mine from 2007 where I said there's a reason he kept getting interviewed but not hired.

 

I'd like to not hire a DC, maybe try something else if you're going to put all your eggs in the QB basket.

Last week we had a minute left, 3 time outs, and we don't try to get a FG? 4th and inches?

This week, they have no time outs, they're marching down the field, we get a PI after a pick, they're moving down on us at a furious pace and we don't call a time out to make sure we got our shit straight? We don't fucking talk about it?

Rivera is not a good coach. Cam Newton is coddled, and it's like we don't even ask him to correct his mistakes.

Our defenses collapse in the 4th quarters, and after Rivera publicly bitches and moans about Beason wearing down, we don't sub in Blackburn on a single fucking play?

GAME MANAGEMENT IS BEYOND BAD.

I remember being lukewarm about Rivera and pretty miffed about Hurney keeping his job.

 

Shoulda fired hurney, kept fox.

But JR knows that now.
