One good reason for Charlotte to ditch the Bobcats -- it ranks second-worst all time in terms of win percentage by team nicknames. Here's a look:

    Team Pct. Record
    Steamrollers .274
    Bobcats .346 (250-472)
    Clippers .370 (1,044-1,778)
    Grizzlies .383 (547-881)
    Wizards .392 (495-769)

    The Steamrollers?

Plus it was always a shitty name.

I keep forgetting how terrible the Grizzlies were for years.

Jesus Christ, how were the Clippers that bad for that long?

I'm actually pretty excited about the Hornets being back, until they move again at least.

    Jeffery Taylor

Taylor was one of the most impressive players of the Las Vegas Summer League, showing a full array of skills that could portend a breakout sophomore NBA season. He led the Bobcats with 20.3 points per game and helped Charlotte to an appearance in the league semifinals, although Taylor and the team's other contract players sat out a loss to Golden State. Taylor's ability to create havoc in the lane off the dribble was the standout part of his performance, and although it won't be as easy against a regular NBA roster, it's progress. He's an excellent athlete and runs the court well, finishing breakouts with an array of highlight-reel dunks.

I hope he can keep some of that up in the real season.

I know it's unfair to judge him this early, but it's hard to feel encouraged about MKG.

They've talked about wanting to get him "better shots" but that could just be organizational bs. Admittedly I watched about one half of a Bobcats game all of last season. Does he just naturally suck at shooting?

Yes, and everyone knew that when he was drafted. He's the kind of player who could be awesome on a good team but really makes no sense at all on an awful one.
