    I think it's pretty likely(barring injury) that he has a monster year, since it's his contract year, but actually paying that contract is going to be one hell of an ordeal. Plus there's always the chance that he comes back fat and happy in 2014.

    I think he gets paid reguardless. I don't see much of a discount if he signs early. Might as well play the last year out for relatively cheap (I think he still gets paid 1.5 mil which is alot for a 6th rounder) and get it done next year. Tag him if we have to stop him leaving and get something in return if it can't be worked out. Any other major FA's next year?

    The CJ contract really hurts us here, we can't afford that again. Hopefully G gets him to sign a more friendly deal because i'd hate to see him leave. He really is developing into a great player.

    He was there earlier. Maybe its a sign a new contract is imminent and he's just being precautionary. Or maybe he just had shit to take care of.

    Yeah, signing a guy before free agency only makes sense if you can get him at a discount and skipping OTAs pretty clearly shows that he wants huge money.
