I guess because I'm tired of talking about the NFL draft.

Yeah, so some of the matchups coming into focus in the East. Knicks will play Boston. Milwaukee is locked into playing Miami, which is great if you love carnage.

Utah couldn't get it done tonight at MEM - Lakers are in. I think they're actually a pretty good story. Overcame some shit.

big game 7 monday. the heat look beatable, but it will be tough. gotta love the pacers staying big and not reacting to mismatches.

lebron has had to really carry the team and it's starting to take a toll. i think that's actually a good strategy against the heat, particularly at home -- let lebron get his, but don't let him get anybody else off. (obviously, don't "let" him get anything, but just don't over-commit on d and leave shooters)

i suspect this game will get chippy pretty early on.

Chris Bosh needs to exorcise his inner Ralph Sampson and get his ass under the basket and act like a center. He'll get bumped around but his outside shooting hasn't amounted to shit

that's not really his game. at least, it hasn't been lately. he's been more of a spot up guy. he killed the bulls with his 15 footers and even some three's. not that he scored a ton, but he seemed to hit the shots the heat needed. kinda like haslem, tho i suppose that may be faint praise.

if he goes inside, all he's really going to do is let hibbert camp down around the rim which is exactly where miami doesn't want hibbert. his best bet is to face up from 15 or so and draw hibbert away from rim enough to get around him with the dribble, which he's been able to do. if he pump fakes to get hibbert moving towards him, there's no way hibbert has the foot speed to stay in front of bosh.

the heat team is acting a bit demoralized -- wade implying james is trying to do too much, james saying wade and bosh are struggling, bosh apologizing to the team for the suck. i think that is the benefit of turning lebron into a scorer vs trying to stop him and letting him get other people going.

Bosh has been a non factor except for one game. I'd agree with Bosh's main job is to pull the bog man out so LBJ can drive.

The problem for Bosh wasn't offense, it was being a non-factor when defending and rebounding.

we'll see if the spurs take anything away from how the pacers played the heat. staying big and pounding it inside made life hard on them. the spurs aren't as big, but they execute on offense tons better than the pacers. i don't think parker will have the same problem handling the ball that george hill and dj augustin had.

that's really where the pacers fell apart -- they couldn't get into any kind of offense because the heat defense was swarming. they'd eat up 15 seconds just getting to the front court and getting the first pass off and then the ball would stick on one side of the court. if your pg is having to pick up his dribble because of ball pressure, you need another pg.
