Actually this list is voted on by their peers. This list is complied by the players of the NFL.

Poor Kuech didn't get a bunch of football peers to testify for him, other than the fucker he replaced.

FUCK Roddy White. I don't think any db would say Smitty's easy to cover, and that he has to be hidden to be effective.

    For your enjoyment, bitches.

    Ted Striker, thoughts?

Former Carolina Panthers Head Coach John Fox will have you know that at one point in his career here, he took a low five (the opposite of a high five) from Steve Smith once that actually snapped his goddamn bicep tendon.

    True fact.

Steve Smith is not the 83rd best player in the NFL.

    #1!

No...I'd honestly probably rank him around #30 or so...call me a homer but I think he belongs.

Keep this in mind next time someone wants to say that a player or former player on ESPN has more authority because of his experience

I love Steve, but he clearly isn't a top 5 WR right now and probably isn't in the top 10. Maybe he should be in the low 60s or 70s, but 83rd sounds about right.

    Ronde Barber in MMQB:
"I played a lot of great players. The receiver position today ... so hard to match up now. Megatron [Calvin Johnson] was impossible to cover. Randy Moss in his prime: nothing you can do. But to me, Steve Smith was the toughest guy I faced. When I played him, he was just like me. He chose to outwork everyone else out there every day. That was me. "
