Yeah it would be nice to see what Pilares and Adams can do. Rivera shat on Adams early on but the dude has ability. Pilares was actually a good returner before his injury as well.

    You mean like this one:

Ted Ginn Jr. signs with Carolina Panthers - NFL.com

    Or this one:

Carolina Panthers boost return game by signing Ted Ginn Jr. | CharlotteObserver.com

Look man, Its great to dream big and everything, but lets be a little bit realistic, jeezy creezy, now you're comparing him to Smitty. Miami was moons ago. Look, I hope he can push Hixon and Lafell, he can certaintly offer something with the deep routes and end arounds, but he is simply not as good a pass catcher as Smitty, LaFell or Hixon. I have no problem with him adding debth at WR and ousting AE, you do.

AE had one big catch and 1 big punt return, thats it, in 3 years. And both times he failed to find the endzone which made them even more comical.

Do you really see him developing into a #1 or #2 receiver at this point?
Do you really expect the team to extend his contract after the year if he even makes it through cuts?

And I'd like to see Adams and Pilares develop too (which is why I mentioned AE and Gettis as the cuts).

But Gettis and AE are on year 4, how many more years do you want to spend waiting and developing?

Ginn was primarily a returner in SF for the last 3 years. You want to live in the past when he played for Miami when they committed a bunch of coin and a 1st round selection on him. He had to start there, in SF he had to earn it and he didnt, IN 3 YEARS.

Yeah, exactly. If you knew about those links then why did you embarrass yourself by insisting that Ginn is a returner only?

Please do even a little bit of research on things before you post. Last season Ginn was completely removed from San Francisco's offense, but that was the only year of his career where he wasn't serving as a top three wideout. In 2011 he caught 58% of his 33 targets.

No, but he could develop into a good slot receiver. I liked what I saw of him running routes last season.

Teams only keep five or six receivers, so at least one and possibly both of Adams and Pilares will be gone. Even if the other makes the roster, he won't get on the field barring injury.

Please stop posting. You constantly saying something wrong and forcing me to correct your ignorance is annoying and unnecessary. Ted Ginn was actually the #3 WR for San Francisco in 2010 and 2011. You could have found that out by spending 30 seconds looking up stats. Most of the mistakes you make could be prevented with just a modicum of research before pressing "submit."

    Agreed.

Its not like these guys arent going to be at camp. They are going to get another chance to show improvement. Its up to them to show it.

LOL, where and when did I say that? What part of the word "primarily" do you not understand. You and reading comprehension again. You really need to take the time to actually read what I type and quit trolling.
Did Ginn offer more to SF as a returner or WR?

All im reading here is a chance to compete and bring some debth to WR and offering abiliity as a returner like I said. WTF are you babbling about.

    For a whopping 220 yards

And in 2010 he caught 34% of his 35 targets for 163 yards. But you wouldnt want to mention that now would you.

Compare that to a healthy Hixon with 66% for 567 yards last year and 59% for 592 yards in 2008.

    You said it here:
    Here:
    And here:
Oh hey look, it's you running your mouth ignorantly and me proving you wrong again. What fun, that's only the forty-seventh time this week. And on that note, kudos for keeping your streak alive and never admitting to being wrong about anything. You having absolutely no clue that Ginn was the #3 WR for San Francisco in 2010 and 2011 was a nice way to add to your total.

Which might be why I already posted this:
"If Ginn is going to be the fourth WR and only get targeted ~10-15 times during the season then I don't understand the point in signing him. Meanwhile it is true that Hixon is a better receiver than Ginn, but his higher catch percentage over Murphy's 60 targets would only mean 3 more successful completions during the season. Is 3 more completions + cutting a young WR worth whatever it will take to sign Hixon? Not to me. Well, not unless they've already decided to let LaFell walk and intend for Hixon to be the starter opposite Smith in future seasons."

I don`t have a problem with him doing it. Saying it publicly doesn`t mean he hasn`t said it to them privately. Maybe it was done to him as a younger player and it made something click in him and he chose it as a challenge to be better. Some people just don`t have the passion to want to be better.

Because he's a fucking returner (that we convinced to sign because we said we'd give him a shot to compete at WR).

Im really starting to think you're insane. Lets ignore all the times i've mentioned his abiliity to run the deep routes and end arounds. Lets ignore the fact that I actually posted the you tube clips of him prior to Hixon even signing. Nowhere have I mention that he is a returner ONLY like you tried to insinuate in a lame effort to claim victory. If you cant tell the difference between a #3 WR that contributes less than 200 yards a year and 1 than adds 600 yards I dont know what to tell you.

Ginn's production as a #3 WR is on par with Hixons when he was the #4 in NY in 2009.

I really dont understand why you're in a tizzy about all this. Weve upgraded at 3 spots WR#3 and KR/PR. 4 if you consider Ginn a better option at WR#4. What, because we might finally have some decent competition and finally cut the cord with 2 guys we probably should have made the previous year?

Jesus, cut JC if you feel that strongly about AE. He probably made more pass attempts in the last 2 years anyway.
