I remember Smitty slipping and gift wrapping an easy TD. Id question the play call more than the throw to be honest. Shit happens, Chud made some brave calls deep in our our territory. Some you win, some you lose.

But it was the refusal to switch up the D on the final CHI drive that was most sinfull.

My problem is when someone like you who has no clue what he's talking about (as proven by years of posts) chooses to argue and disagree with someone like me with actual knowledge (as proven by years of posts). It annoys me that you act as if we're equals.

I never said that "Cam sucks." I'd rather have Cam than Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, Chad Henne, Brandon Weeden, Jake Locker, Ryan Tannehill, Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Carson Palmer. I'd also probably rather have him than Josh Freeman or Jay Cutler. But being better than those guys still leaves him as a mediocre quarterback who comes up small in big moments and who seems more concerned with being famous than getting better as a football player.

I think a truly elite quarterback is by far the most valuable player in football. But "Pro Bowl QB"? No. Derek Anderson made a Pro Bowl.

Steve slipping had nothing to do with that pick-six. Jennings was already playing outside of him and had to jump to make the interception anyway. At absolute best, Steve might have leaped and tipped the pass, but that's all. It was a terrible throw, yet again off of Cam's back foot. How do you not step into a throw when there's absolutely no pressure up the middle?

CB looks a lot stronger than DT in the second round, so maybe that's a reason to take Richardson over Rhodes at #14, but of the two I really would prefer Rhodes.

Dallas supposedly has a hard-on for Vaccaro, which makes sense because Kiffin's defense is so safety-dependent and the Cowboys have none. Trading down from #14 to #18 would net a third round pick.

Kiper has us taking Tavon Austin

    14. Tavon Austin, WR -- West Virginia
Pick analysis: Austin can't be used in the same manner as Steve Smith, but he can add another element of explosiveness to a passing attack that could use a player with his exact skills. Smith turns 34 two weeks after the draft, and Cam Newton could use an underneath target with the capability to do some damage after the catch.

Free-agency factor: The Panthers lack the flexibility to add splash in the passing game via free agency, so I don't see the process doing anything to diminish the value Austin could add.

I would prefer to trade down like Collin indicates, and still end up with him, if that's the route we go. It's hard to watch this video and not come away impressed as shit with his acceleration, vision and top-end speed. Closest thing I've seen to Smitty, since well, Smitty.

I really believe this will happen if he's available. I'm guessing that's what Rivera meant with the Wallace comments.

Giants recent history suggest it'll be a DT or a CB, though they have invested some early picts in WR.

No chance that it's Tavon Austin. No chance. It's one thing to take a small, explosive guy who may or may not even be more than a slot receiver in the third round and quite another to do so at #14. Remember, Rivera didn't even say that the team was interested in a wide receiver. The idiotic column headline said so, but his actual quotes did not. Moreover, Rivera won't be the one making the pick. The reality is that LaFell was statistically just as effective as Steve when targeted last season, so there's absolutely no need at receiver for this team. Meanwhile OL, DT, and CB are HUGE needs. The very suggestion of Austin is ridiculous.
