At reasonable short contracts (no more than 2 years) I'd be happy with it. Gamble was just the tip of the iceberg. Next year I could see Gross, DeAngelo and Beason all being gone

I think 2015 is when it escalates into cut territory.

Thats if Gross survives, he looks like a definate cut on paper next year.

Really would like to see him get renegotiated not restructured. He seems like a lifer.

He wasn't cheap last year either.

Only because of Marty Hurney giving out such huge bonus money that there's almost nothing to be gained by cutting him now. His cap hit is over $4 mil.

So does this signal us ramping up to resign Captain or do we go cheap vet route or draft one in the second?

I think it's going to be the spitball approach where they throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and hope something sticks. Rhodes could definitely be in play at #14, though.

Throw 1-3 mil offers to vet CBs, and DT and the first one who takes it dictates who we draft.
I heard teams can negotiate deals starting this weekend but can't become official until the 12th

Rhodes is interesting. He has great measurables and lots of college experience, but FSU never seemed like a good pass defense.

Yeah, it kinda sucks that we couldn't get some draft pick for him.

I'd love to have Adrian Wilson, but that would probably mean moving Godfrey back to free safety, where he isn't very good, to be kind about it.
