I want someone that could beat out Sanchez or Greg McElroy.

I always felt JC was a guy that needed to sit a few years and learn.

Im fine with him as #2. He looked better in preseason last year.

How about Jason Campbell if its a new #2 you're after?

I'd say Tebow is a better player than Pickle right now. Also his confidence isn't shot to pieces.

Have you forgotten what a year of Jimmy Clausen was like? You'd really want to risk that happening again? Tebow is a better quarterback. You can see that as a reflection of Jimmy, but it's nonetheless true.

He was thrown into a really shitty situation in fairness to him. Did the lame duck HC even want him? Smitty appeared to check out early on him, his other targets were two rookie WR's and not much at TE in Jeff King. Dlo went down early in the season. Do you even remember who our starting OL was that year? Matt Moore looked like ass too.

Now, im not trying to make excuses for him, he had his issues with being ultra conservative throwing the ball away when he was under duress and generally not looking good under pressure. He looked like a rookie should look with little else working around him.

Now, if we dont improve the right side of the OLine I shudder to think what might happen should Cam go down.

Maybe a late rounder at Jordan Rodgers?

I'd be cool with Campbell or Travis Jackson as a backup. I'd like to think you would get a similar style qb as your backup incase newton went down. I do think tebow is better than pickles though. The jiggerboo qb from the ravens would be nice to get.

I didn't say he sucked. He just wasn't that exciting to watch. He's really small. Or at least looks small in person. I mean I could bust out a highlight film of newton and people would think he's the best ever dude lol

Clausen was definitely thrown into a shitty situation, but so was Tebow in Denver. Gotta remember that. He basically got Mike McCoy a HC gig.

I like the guy. He's weird and plays ugly, but it's amazing to me that Christian Ponders and Jake Lockers are being handed starting jobs and nobody seems to care. He can at least be a solid backup plan. He should be, it's ridiculous.

Sometimes your posts make it seem like you never heard of football until two weeks ago. Tebow was never allowed to challenge Sanchez precisely because they viewed him as a threat. They used McElroy at the end since he was guaranteed to fail and they needed to go back to Sanchez this season due to his onerous contract. Had they let Tebow play and the team started winning, they would have been screwed. Please use whatever brain power you have to remember that this guy won 64% of his regular season starts, and threw for over 300 in the playoffs against the #1 defense. I have detailed exactly how Mike McCoy undermined Tebow in 2011 and made him look worse as a passer than he was. I have also detailed how he is dramatically more accurate as a red zone passer than Cam Newton, along with being at about the same level on third downs.
