Chicago special teams coach Toub is also a candidate to be their head coach. Didn't know that. He's under contract for another year so unless the new coach (assuming it isn't him) the Bears could get compensation for him if he stays on (not getting let go)

More on Toub. Doesn't look like he gets the HC gig in Chicago per Insider:

The Chicago Bears cast a very wide net in their search for a head coach to replace Lovie Smith -- targeting 13 known candidates, and potentially more under wraps -- but it appears that they may have whittled the list down to some finalists. According to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears are poised to have three of the candidates in for a second interview: Colts OC Bruce Arians, Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell and Montreal Alouettes HC Marc Trestman.

It's unclear whether this is the exhaustive list; furthermore, it isn't known how quickly the process will go in the days ahead. Given that all three of these supposed finalists are from the offensive side of the ball, this is an indication that DC Rod Marinelli and pieces of his staff may remain in place. The picture is much foggier for the coaches on the offensive side of the ball, though the relationship between QB coach Jeremy Bates and Jay Cutler may be taken into consideration when the new HC reviews Bates' future employment.

I think that's going to be Trestman.

I saw somewhere today (PFT or the twitters, can't remember which) that Toub was expected to go to Kansas City to be ST Coordinator.

not the worst Plan B. Dehaven would be fine. I'd even take Kevin O'Dea at this point.
