    Holy fuckin' cow. :p

Must've been very frustrated that day. But I can't imagine what would make anyone think Shula has earned a spot as our offensive coordinator. Or Chud as our Head Coach. Lol. Garrett Lite? If that. Or Meeks as our DC again.

Lol, like I said. Must've been after a really rough loss. God knows, I've lost my sanity plenty of times.

Collin brings up a really good point though, and it's been something I've noticed too. Rivera scores a few wins late in the season, and it's like everyone has forgotten the consecutive 2-8 starts, the horrible record we have with close wins and losses. (2-12 or 3-1,000,001 or something) and the fact that we've been horribly mismanaged - even during some of those wins.

Now, the perception anyway, is that everyone is lending the guy their full support - which there's nothing wrong with - but it's like the horrific season never happened.

How many times did some of us say during Cam's rookie year, that if a few bounces here or there went our way, we might've been a playoff team. Maybe I'm delusional, but I believe that - and I think, as per Kalil's absurd newspaper prediction, so did (do) the players.

It's a little odd I guess, but hey...I mean, I get the hopeful shit. I'm hopeful too, and ready to erase his record too, and judge him by this upcoming season if he really has learned what he claims to have.

But yeah...it's funny even how our local media is all of a sudden in such strong and bold defense of a guy who has staggered to two losing seasons with a team that is loaded in certain areas. We have our problems, sure. We're not a Superbowl quality team, no. But one of our weaknesses, I'm pretty sure anyway, is our head coach.

Eh. Whatever. For all of our sakes, I hope he kicks some serious ass next year at his job. That should help the team win some games. And maybe y2b's brazen prediction that we will see the post season will come to fruition, and he can rub Collin's nose in a pile of shit like he wants to do. And mine, I guess, because I don't see a big positive from him sticking around.

We're gonna have to let some guys go, and it's going to be a rough offseason. And Rivera is the guy who will be left to fix this.

    That's scary.

Boy, this GM hire is gonna be huge. Crossing my fingers for Gettleman.

Damn, no doubt. We're like...abused children. We thank our abusers who starve us 23 hours out of the day, for the 1 hour they decide to give us bread and water. :laugh4: Wait....

    That's kind of sad.

still haven't been wrong on anything on this board... just because JR can't make the right calls

none of this would have been an issue if we had canned Hurney in 04, signed a real QB when Delhomme's arm took a shit, and resigned Fox to a long term deal

I can't find anything you've been right about so...

I wanted him fired - until I saw Mike McCoy's name circulating as a hot HC candidate again. And I'm about 90% sure that McCoy would have been Rivera's successor. So I sort of feel like we've chosen the lesser of two evils.

We've all covered the negatives of Rivera. I'm just highlighting some positives. Like him not being Mike McCoy.

being competitive in any football game at this level is a positive. And yeah, it sucks that a lot of the wins were Fox style 'meaningless' wins. But, not finishing like shit is kinda neat. Winning after some of your better players are hurt is kinda neat too.

None of that really makes it much of a guarantee that shit will change. He keeps teams in games that he might piss away. I don't know. It's difficult to say anything good about anyone anymore without a disclaimer.

The NFL is a what have you done lately league. Whats new.

And lately he won some games that swayed some minds. I wanted him gone midseason too. But I noticed he hadnt lost the players thru all the bad. I said if he won out he should stay and he did. I'll stand by that.

But keep in mind how bad this team was, even if a few good players have massive contracts. Historically this team has had very few winning seasons. Does 6-10, 7-9 really stand out as awefull in that context?

I remember thinking before he coached 1 game that the D was 3 years away from being decent. I think he's ahead of the curve there even if we still lack talent in the secondary.

I think the first ATL game was a big turning point. Had we pulled that win out the bag I think we would have made the playoffs.

The question will be what did he really learn. Will he be as brave during the early games next year. Will we be more focused on using our RB's better and not take till game 10 to get going. Will we upgrade the Oline.
