    He inherited a 2-14 team

He went 6-10 in year one, while the team was conpetitive in 14 of 16 games.

7-9 in year two, amid chaos with Hurney firing, Cam's terrible early season play. Defense was better than anyone here could have hoped for.

It's easy to discount the 4-0 finish, since we only beat one team above .500. But, we were playing with a ton of scrubs too. James Dockery was starting ffs. I like how Rivera kept the team together. I also like how he's not afraid to bench people and fire people. He doesn't have that stubborn Fox loyalty shit, which I guess is a fair tradeoff for not having Fox's swagger. I think he's a better leader and administrator than we think.

Maybe year three can be a breakout year. Win those close games early, and keep the strong finishes. You know, fuck it.

I wish, but no. Any wins he gets are by accident, like a bum stumbling across money.

I agree... he's a like a Mexican Rottweiler. He's a pack leader and this team is taking on his personality. I feel there's team chemistry and they've all been to hell together in the locker room. Focus will be much improved next season.

He could have lost this team, but he said they needed to do certain things better, like tackle and wrap up rather than throwing bodies around, and they did. He can coach. I'm looking forward to getting more "Rivera" guys on the team and seeing what they can do...

Norv lost his best assistants while ranked #1 on both sides of the ball and look what happened... I feel like Chud & Rivera has what it takes to succeed, if they can do it under Richardson's dumbass is to be determined.

    Lol!

Rivera is learning. I'm not crazy about the fact that our head coach has made the kinds of mistakes he has made.

He's got a final year. I'm not crazy about that. But we'll see. All the past mistakes don't mean shit if he turns the ship around, and we go balls deep into the playoffs, which I highly doubt will happen. I can't imagine he goes in with the same staff, or without additions.

I think Rivera has it in him but don’t think we're going to get there next year. And if we don’t he may not keep the job. We're so fucked with the cap it wouldn't be easy for anyone.

Rivera is a tough guy, I have no doubt, but the last thing I envision when I look at his body of work and how he's functioned here, is a dog who is the leader of the pack.

I see insecurity with the current task at hand - not as a coordinator or an x's and o's guy, but as the head of operations of an entire NFL football team. I don't see an alpha personality who will take charge of a group of alpha male men and lead them to great things.

Who knows. Maybe I'm wrong, and shit will change. I see him on the level of a guy like say....Jim Schwartz of the Lions...

It's funny to me that opinions on Rivera changed so much over the last few games. Again, I give him credit for having his guys continue to play hard, but isn't that like giving a fat chick credit for not destroying the buffet? It's pretty much the bare minimum you would expect from a head coach. I do not believe that Ron Rivera is the worst head coach in the NFL or even that close to it, but I have seen things that make me discouraged while having not seen things that make me optimistic.

I'm not going by the last couple of games, I'm going by how he's grown the whole season. Rivera has responded in a positive way.

we won't miss the play-offs next season I promise you
