I wouldn't expect much staff change.

Any chance JR has already decided who GM is before the official interviews? Maybe JR has already discussed this decision with him. Basically, I am trying to convince myself it will not be Beane.

that keeps persisting. I don't know what to say about that, other than that he's not at all qualified. He could easily be named to his prior title and would be happy with that. Make him assistant GM for all it matters. I don't see much reason that he'd interview outside of courtesy, or that he'd be viewed as an equal candidate compared to 3 guys who have 10+ years done actual scouting.

Well I'm in Rivera's corner.... I think its a sound move. He's shown he can handle the pressure and the team responded. There's not a candidate out there I have more confidence in right now... I'm looking forward to what he does this draft and seeing what he can do with a healthier battle tested team next season. There's enough talent & chemistry to do something special.

Reason number 1 he should have been let go. How many times has y2 been right regarding ANY football decisions?

Anyways I'm thinking even more now that Richardson wanted Kelly, but was holding out for a GM. Since one hasn't been hired yet and Kelly is headed to Cleveland, Rivera was option 2 so he decided to retain him rather than leave him dangling.

Kelly wants to have control. You wouldn't wait for a GM to get Kelly.

The fix had been in on Rivera for a while now. I feel better about it only because of the McCoy rumors, so I hope that idiot gets hired in Buffalo or somewhere before Rivera's contract runs out next season.

Short of a win or 2 in the playoffs next year he is gone. Get a fucking gm in here already
