I don't think Lovie was the Bears' problem. He's done a good job considering he took them to the playoffs several times (and a Super Bowl) with Cutler and Grossman at QB. In spite of how average Cutler is, kind of strange that they lost their last five games in 2011 when he got injured. Cam would do well with Lovie at the helm, methinks.

He's a guy that will do very well as a DC again, but he's done in this league as a HC

Just my humble opinion, but I think you'll eat those words. Romeo, Gailey and Norm may be done as an NFL HC, but I think someone will snag Lovie and Reid.

According to ESPN sources, a decision on Rivera's fate is not expected today. Rivera is doing exit meetings with players and reportedly has not met with Richardson.

Yeah I think Lovie gets hired as HC again too. You never know, JR had such a hard on for Pep, Pep wanted to play for Lovie, .... hmm.

There's a lot to like about lovie and worse coaches have gotten second chances (ffs Norv, Gailey and Jauron have more than one HC job on the resume) the biggest gripe is probably some bad gameday stuff usually with challenges but his teams always played hard and he built great D and STs units.

Then we'd have Lovie Smith and Hatie (Steve) Smith. I know stupid, just got really bad news.
