    If reducing pre-season games is part of the deal, I'm all for it.

    Television ratings for the year are down by 2%. I almost think the league is at a saturation point what with every Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games. As far as expanding playoffs how about just make the best 6 teams from each conference instead of division winners. That way the truly best teams make it

    Sounds like you would end up having teams w losing records make the playoffs... Doesn't that happen in the NBA? What's next.... 2 out 3 games series?

    Seattle already made it in with a losing record a couple of years back. This is all greed on the owners part. Leave well enough alone

    They are getting paid MILLIONS to play a game for Christs sake. To workout and get all the perks. If it is too dangerous don't fucking play. All these tree huggin hioppies piss me off. reminds me of the countless bullshit stupid ass procedures in the office admin world.

    You say this only because you're still idiotically defending the idea of a college football playoff. The reality is that the NFL's regular season doesn't matter. The last seven Super Bowls have been won by the 6, 3, 5, 2, 1, 6 and 4 seeds. The Jets still being in the playoff picture last week despite their horrid season is proof of the opposite of what you were arguing. If they could be that awful and still come so close to making the playoffs then the regular season is just about irrelevant. And do you follow the NFL at all? A 9-7 team almost always gets in, and an 8-8 team gets in all too often as well. You do not have to "earn" it at all, which is why teams like the Giants feel comfortable coasting for long stretches since they think they can "turn it on" at the end.

    I think you do have to earn it somewhat, going on the road to play, playing the extra week in the WC round. But I'd prefer one WC in each conference and reward regular season records more.

    We don't need the NFL turning into the NHL or NBA. 12 of 32 teams in the playoffs is more than enough.
