For the Big Ten. Maryland alum and owner of Under Armour is rumored to be footing the 50 million dollar buyout fee to leave the ACC for bigger Big Ten football money

Did Maryland really add much to the ACC? Just means a little more money for the rest of the schools. I think it will actually end up in the other Big Ten schools also getting less money than they would have otherwise, but we'll see.

Losing Maryland sucks only from a historic point if view. I imagine the Big Ten is happy to get into the NYC and Washington, D.C. Television markets but really why would anyone in NYC want to subscribe to the big ten network to watch Nebraska or Iowa?
Who will the ACC go after to fill the Terripans spot? UConn?

ACC already has 14 with Notre Dame, so I hope they don't add anyone. UConn would be a colossal mistake. That school is poised to fall off a cliff now that their basketball future is questionable. Louisville would be a nice add athletically, but it would be better to just stick with the current group.

Rumors have it between Louisville and UConn with Cincinnati also in the mix. :freak: I always thought Louisville was basically a commuter college with little on campus dorms. But that opinion is probably out dated as I haven't been around Louisville in over 15 years. Not sure what kind of academic history brings but both their football and basketball are typically top 25 year in and year out.
I do not want Cincinnati though.

How long can the Big East continue to get a bcs automatic bid when it's become a conference of leftovers and low level division 1 schools
