Its not like he has to be Chucky out there but damn it is a game that thrives on emotions and momentum. It'd be nice if the HC looked like he gave a shit.

Fox said the writing was on the wall after the 12-4 season, he didn't agree with the direction the team was going

    Understatement of the Week.

Fox needed to be fired too. Let's not use this to pretend that he was a great head coach. He screwed up plenty of things on his own.

After being sort of nuetral for a couple of years, I got real down on Hurney starting with the '08 draft and he got worse every year. Fox needed to be gone instead of staying that last year too.

Understandable... but I disagree. I think Fox is a great coach. I think his biggest obstacle was Hurney and his personnel decisions...

Fox hasn't had a losing season since leaving the Panthers

No shit. He gets four wins a year, at least, because of that weak ass division. All he has to do is go 5-7 in the rest of the games to get to nine. And they got him Manning who is worth a few wins a year, minimum.

Based on what? He had Steve Smith and Julius Peppers but couldn't have back to back winning seasons and only had three winning seasons in nine years. He undermined his assistant coaches and stubbornly refused to change his offensive or defensive preferences regardless of the opponent. I brought up the Arizona playoff game where Fox stubbornly stayed with Cover 3 and refused to have Gamble shadow Fitzgerald, which meant that the Cardinals again and again got Larry Fitzgerald singled up on Chris Harris. Fox isn't an awful coach, but he's average at absolute best.

Yeah. Good not great coach, plenty of limitations, so many of which are self imposed.

Remind me again why he's not a great coach next time he has a losing season... or how about when the Panthers can hire someone better
