The consultant thing makes sense, but can Hurney just fucking go away now? It bothers me that he still sees himself as part of the team

I dont think it's hurney as much as his pals in the press who never criticized him. They give him the platform, call him up and ask him.

I wish some of these beat writers would take JR to the woodshed.

Consultant makes me hopeful it's outside hire, with autonomy. Wonder who is going to consult?

Seems like the consultant has his own agenda, ie getting his clients hired. I mean no shot here, Collin could pay the consultant a fee to get him hired. I wonder who else the consultant has gotten hired

I don't know that would be a concern...only agents would have much stake in that. Consultant is probably a fmr GM/VP type.

By all accounts Hurney was a NICE GM. NICE managers breed complacency, and thats what we are, complacent, top to bottom.

Hurney gave those hacks the VIP treatment, so I understand why he's so popular with them. I was just hoping JR would have a clean break with Hurney instead of keeping him as a confidant. I don't want him having any influence over JR's decision making.

Used to be one of them and extremely nice to them. Given that there isn't one competent media member covering the Panthers (sorry solarte, but it's true), of course they're going to side with him.
