Not as biting as I had recalled certainly, and I can't find the quote from just a few years ago in his year with MH where there were a was an accusation of him practicing players to injury, but regardless...I'm just mystified you'd suggest Eric Mangini as a head coach here. Frankly, I think it's as retarded a suggestion we've seen here on this board in maybe the last fifteen years or so, but I'd be curious as to your reasoning.

For those who feel this is a horrible day for this organization, fine. It's understandable. For me, it's a great day.

I never thought JR would fire Hurney. Ever. And I was a Hurney supporter until the '09 offseason. After that, it needed to be changed -- the entire structure.

Rivera shares some blame in this. His job is to have his team prepared, and to utilize the talent given to maximize the W/L tilt. Rivera, as a coach (and Newton as a QB) -- showing no ability to do the one thing that separates playoff teams from 6-10:

Finish games.

On a side note, where are the "HOW WE CAN FIRE RIVERA, KEEP CHUD AS HC....." threads from about 10-12 months ago?

 

And since I just had a baby, and I am working by balls off, I haven't had much TBR time lately. And I come into this thread, mid-stream, seeing the "Great Mangini Debate" in full effect.

I dunno, Collin wants Eric Mangini to be the next head coach of the Carolina Panthers or some shit like that.

Who knows. Done talking about Mangini. It's not gonna happen, so fuck it.

I like Mangini's analysis on ESPN. I do think he's a quality coach -- even at a head coach level.

Not the particular type of guy I'd be looking for, given what's available. Assuming Ron gets canned.

Maybe he's talking about Hurney... since he seems to be behind on everything else
