anything a GM would handle during the season can be filled by Danny Morrison I assume... what does he do again anyway?

I think it's a forgone conclusion Rivera is gone now that Marty is gone. The next GM unless he comes from within will want his guy.

You said "He doesn't motivate players, he runs them into the ground with grueling practices, which has been credited to the reason why his teams wear down in the season." I then provided evidence proving you completely wrong. It's fine if you don't want to admit that you were wrong, but in that case have the common courtesy to drop the subject instead of providing more bullshit excuses.

I realize he's not saying Hurney is gone only because of Cam, and I may have completely misinterpreted Cam's post game, but I just find it hard to imagine Jerry sitting through Cam's speech and then firing Hurney. I would think Cam's frustration is more with coaches then GM unless Hurney is on the field coaching in his spare time or dictating what the coaches/co ordinators do game day.

Yeah, who knows. Personally, I think he's tired of the coaches being idiots. Who knows.

I just don't understand how the same coach & coordinator of last year's team can be the same folks calling the shots this year? Not saying it was perfect, but I felt like it was the start of good things and now this year is a complete cluster f.

Did you miss the part where his teams did well late in the season?

Runs counter to your point that "He doesn't motivate players, he runs them into the ground with grueling practices, which has been credited to the reason why his teams wear down in the season."

Mangini got screwed in NY by Favre. Didn't pay attention to his time in Cleveland.

Its going to take at least 2 years to put a team on the field without massive holes, the Panthers just don't have the cap flexibilty to put a complete team out there. Whoever comes in here as GM and Coach is going to have to be patient.
