    It's all about motive. Putting an ad in the paper to the fans shows an appreciation for the people who indirectly finance your paycheck, whereas going on ESPN to say something like this would seem like an attempt to brag and get individual attention.

    I really, really doubt it. Nobody respects the Panthers enough to feel motivated by that.
