See, it's frustrating that whenever you know you're losing an argument you just blatantly lie about what the other person says. I've never said he was clueless, never said he was non-chalant, and never said he was uninvolved. I've been perfectly clear throughout the argument that Jerry cares about the team, is interested in the team, and stays involved with what his people do for the team. But it's absurd for you to act like Jerry Richardson is the one deciding contracts or deciding to trade future first round picks. For whatever reason you've chosen to defend Marty Hurney and pretend that he's just following orders instead of making those decisions himself.

It's something you've been doing a lot lately. I don't have any particular problem with it, it's just amusing to watch you insist that I'm the one losing control of my emotions when you're the one flipping out and posting a bunch of bizarre things.

I'm not angry, magnus. You keep pretending that I'm a frothing lunatic when you're actually the one who gets upset and starts making things up because you can't rationally argue your point. And no, I haven't backed off my statement at all. I pointed out that you defended Seifert to the death because you cared more about not admitting that you were wrong about him than you did about what was best for the team. You have a pattern of that behavior.

You just got through saying that "he could be reassigned and there would be little structural difference in what he does." That means you don't think he's actually a general manager. You've also stated that he's not the one making the decisions, that he's just carrying out JR's directives. That also means he's not actually a general manager. You keep making those statements and then I guess because you realize how ludicrous it sounds, you pretend that you haven't said what I quoted you saying.

I've never seen you say that, while I have seen you suggest that JR pushed Marty to trade the future pick for Armanti Edwards.

That's exactly what I addressed. It's funny how you pretend I was talking about him managing a specific Denny's because you can't argue the actual issue. Jerry Richardson didn't decide Denny's marketing plans or expansion plans or any of the macro-level operational stuff. He hired people to do that for him, just as he hired Marty Hurney to run the Panthers. And when the Denny's people fucked things up royally, he was loath to hold them accountable and make changes, which is why he was eventually forced out as CEO.

I did look up Richardson's statements and I never found anything to back up your claims that Richardson directly runs the team, decides who gets extensions, decides what free agents to sign, etc. Those statements don't exist because that reality only exists inside your head. Marty Hurney is not a glorified secretary. He's not a general manager in name only. He runs the Panthers, he's simply incompetent when it comes to doing so.

Have to give him a little credit for this years draft. Perhaps as many as 5 starters (Keekly, Silatolu, Adams (PR), Norman, and Nortman) Not bad at all.

Interesting, but worst pick Eric Shelton? Yeah he was a bad pick, but throwing away first rounders on Rashard Anderson, Rae Carruth and Everette Brown....worse than a bad 2nd round pick.

Oops...just realized that Anderson ans Carruth outside the scope of this analysis.

    ....and you're still wrong

    FAIL

I dreamed up a scenerio where when Jerry played football he hated the GM of the Colts for screwing him on his contract. So he told himself if he ever bought a team hed personally cuck his own GM and give all his ill gotten gains from running a racist restaurant chain to poor negros and laugh at his GMs suffering. Even though nobody has ever heard this obscure story about Jerry, everybody(although no one has ever said so) agrees with me. He also fucks Hurneys wife and has a glory hole for her in section 213 of the stadium in the mens room.

Nice finish, although I worry a little about too much feel-good bullshit for preseason games.
