aside from Hurney, most teams find the Pats to be a good team, and they definitely drafted for need. Same with GB. It looks like the Ravens' top two picks will start (Upshaw certainly more easily for Suggs, but they lost Johnson in FA, too). Pittsburgh is "good", and picked a starter at guard, and they are in need of a starting tackle (don't know if Adams is it, yet).

Not only shitty teams draft need.

Green Bay doesn't draft for need unless it's a luxury they can afford, and Kruger looks slated to start for Bmore (who was drafted as the eventual replacement for Johnson and/or Suggs.) New England has gotten away with some shady personnel moves because they have Tom Brady.

Basically every team is equally shitty at drafting players. The common denominator of great teams is great QB's.

Most of those fall to shitty teams as high draft picks.

Indy rode Peyton for years and now have rolled straight into the Luck era.

The other Manning went pretty high too. Even the Steelers parlayed a bad year into Big Ben.

NE got lucky finding Brady in round 6.

Baltimore is the last SB winning team i remember with an average QB. And even Difler was originally a high draft pick.

Rodgers was highly reguarded even if he slid some, and at the time Favre looked closer to retiring than what actually happened.

Lets just be happy we finally have one now too in Cam.

Agreed on the qb, but youre missing something. All those teams are good at getting roleplayers to support those qbs. GB for years has found WRs to compliment either Favre or Rogers. Indy always found weapons for PM. Brady had guys like Kevin Faulk and Troy Brown. None of these teams wasted money overpaying FAs. The Panthers must do those kind of things for Cam. Even the great qbs need guys to make plays.

Thats kinda a cart before the horse situation. Are Faulk and Brown really that good or did Brady make them look that good?

Cam has been here 1 year. Lets give them a little time to build around him.

Smitty, Olson, Dlo, Stu and Tolbert are all quality weapons. Agreed we need to be more fiscally sound. While Smitty and Dlo are getting paid i dont find Olsons or Tolberts contracts crippling.

Over 7 rounds they all have a tremendous amount of guys that never work out. Yeah, there are some teams that always seem to mail it in like the Raiders, Detroit and Cleve. But 2 of those 3 may have turned the corner.

Nobody hits a homerun every time, but there's definitely bottom-feeders and the Panthers are one of them. Believe me, I wish it wasn't so.
