Another promising player waived, Derrick Harvey released from the Bengals, his third team in a short period of time. What a reach by the Jags

Dodged bullet for the Panthers. I don't know how serious the team was about wanting him but many draft experts were predicting the Panthers would draft him.

I liked him. Then again we're not paid to do this.

I can't think of a more boom-or-bust state for prospects than Florida.

Yes, and can't figure out why either. Are Spurrier and Meyer systems so full of gimmick's that they inflate the talent that plays within them? Seems to be so, at least for Spurrier QBs anyway.

that, plus Bowden had some gimmick tendencies as well, and probably a matter of volume. Any non-Pro style program with a lot of talent is hiding some of that talent's flaws. Add in the decline of all three programs and it makes sense that some guys get by on past reputation.

This right here is what scares me about the Tarheels new coaches decision to switch from a pro style to the spread. I don't profess to be an expert but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know good young players go where they will be in position to be drafted

yeah, but they also go for success. Whether Fedora will have it, having had essentially one good year as a coach, I don't know.

As for the spread, it's more or less the big thing to run anyway. To be a pro-style system is rare.

I imagine it's because they have the most of those unskilled super-athletes that people talk themselves into liking on "potential."
