Haywood is a good pick up. He will be cheap and with the lack of big men on this roster he probably gets a lot of playing time. Wasn't he at UNC the same time as Jamison?

i have no clue what jeremy lin is worth as a basketball player. i mean, it's easy to say he just got crazy hot and with lucked into some amazing games, but fuck, that was just too many games to discount as a pure aberration. is houston overpaying? could be, but how dumb would ny look if they let him walk and then he throws up one of those crazy stat lines every dozen or so games? i mean, you can get caught sleeping on a guy once, but twice makes you look foolish.

lin also has the extra benefit of being an immense cash draw. his jersey sales were #2 last year. derrick rose was the only guy who sold more. i'm guessing he'd earn his $25 million.

i have to believe ny will match, but i have no idea wtf they're waiting for. could be simply a cap hold issue (i'm sure lin's cap hold isn't very large) so timing new signings before they re-sign lin would help them retain some financial flexibility.

 

Felton's a hell of a deal at that price. *sigh* And yeah, lolHouston.

 

There was a reason Lin was on his third team. He will probably will do well in Houston but that's because they have gotten rid of most of their viable assets and in turn someone will have to score. Lin may be popular but unless Houston has a larger Chinese population than I know of who is going to come to the games when they lose as many as they will. They are putting way too much into hopefully getting Howard and when it blows up in their face but not getting him they will have to fill their roster with players no one wanted or if they get Howard lands in Houston why would he resign with them when all that's there is Lin and Howard? Not to mention no help in the future because Houston traded reportedly 4 first rd picks. I like the rumors of Howard to LA, Bynum to Cleveland and picks and players as well as bad contracts off Orlandos books so next summer they can move on easier
