They have a 1.8% chance of making the playoffs according the the ESPN standings. Yes, they have a chance, but not a good enough chance to hold on to that dream. I'm a bit worried they are rushing Howard back.

I was as well until I read this.
Initial reports estimated Howard could return in mid-July, just after the All-Star break, but the first baseman showed enough in his seven-game minor league rehab stint -- he hit .500 (10-for-20) with a homer, two doubles, 10 RBIs and five walks -- that the Phils are bringing him back now.

Brown isn't a legitimate center fielder, but I guess they could slide Pierre over. Problem is that they wouldn't get much for Victorino right now. Might be better off letting him play out the contract and take draft pick compensation.

Unfortunately for the Phils in last nights game their relief pitcher had a hard time.
At least Howard is batting .500. Thats pretty damn good after being gone for that long.

Phillies need to jettison all of their middle relievers. Have killed them all year. Maybe when Doc comes back they can move Kendrick to the pen

Yeah, I didn't realize they had lost so many games recently. Last time I had looked, they were only about two games under .500.

Not impossible, but unlikely this year. The Phillies have one of the tougher 2nd half schedules this season. I'm wondering whether both the Nats & Mets can continue to play as well as they have so far thou. Phillies will need to start winning & hope for both of those teams to start collapsing the 2nd half.

& then there's still the Braves to worry about.

The Nationals with their pitching look to be tough all year. Sooner or later the Mets are going to find a mirror and finally realize who they really are, the Mets.
The Bravos, well I just don`t know. Sometimes they`ll hit the lights out, but then a pitcher will give up 4-5 runs in an inning.
