Or however it's spelled. Trade Corey to Pistons for shooting guard Ben Gordon (12.5 ppg) and a 2013 protected 1st rd pick. Protected from what, suck age?

Both players signed through next year and Gordon's cap hit is 1-2 mil more. Looks like the pick is Thompson unless we can trade down and get something

gordon has 2 years left, maggette has one. it's a cost savings for detroit.

jordan is really confusing. sometimes he spends money and other times he acts cheap. i'd like to know the details of the pick. i'm sure it's pretty well protected in 2013, but what about subsequent years?

maggette is a pointless guy to have on your roster, imo. gordon sucked in detroit but played well in chicago as a 6th man. he's not very tall, tho. so with augustin, walker, and gordon as a backcourt rotation... man, that's a small backcourt.

I stand corrected, here's hoping the cats get the bulls version vs the pistons version

form yahoo sports: The Pistons' draft pick is also protected through the eighth selection in 2014 and No. 1 in 2015. It is unprotected if the deal extends to 2016.

chances are good, the bobcats will have a solid pick in 2015. which might be all this is really about.

Lottery protected in 2013, top eight protected in 2014, #1 protected in 2015, and unprotected in 2016. I don't know, I like getting the pick but I'd be concerned about this affecting their ability to offer max to someone like Harden after next season since Maggette would have been off the cap. It also suggests that the Bobcats aren't likely to draft Bradley Beal, which is unfortunate. A 40%+ three point shooter has some value, it's just too bad that Gordon sucks at everything else besides free throws.

Anyone know Charlotte's cap space? I wouldn't mind them taking a run at Ersan Ilyasova, but he'd be pricey.

I think I like this move. From a player stand point I am not sure it makes much difference. Neither of the guys involved in the trade are going to do much for you. The real trade is that we delayed clearing salary cap space by one year in exchange for a first round draft pick. I will take that because we are not likely to attract a player worthy of a max deal anyway.

It does make me wonder if they are planning to draft a 3 with their pick. I was hoping for Robinson but they do not have much at the 3 now....
