Had concern with Marty going cheap a G with Pollack and Hang.

So I was cool with DeCastro in a trade down.

I just dont know the kid at all and DT was jumping off the page at us saying pick me pick me.

But Rivera had a shit eating grin yesterday so he seemed pleased as punch.

I wonder how quickly he can be a starter. I also wonder if he can play RT if Otahs stays hurt.

as a tackle (now this is all on paper) you might want a guy who reacts a little better to move combinations, a guy with a little longer arms. Hard to say on footspeed, at RT it matters less and his lateral acceleration is good, but his 3 cone/20 shuttle weren't. It's that bizarre mix of indicators not unlike his very average bench but above average VJ.

In a pinch, maybe he's able to do it. Hard to say. his experience is at tackle. I do think you take Glenn if you want more of a swing player. But Glenn was around rock bottom on most measurables. For fairness I gleaned almost all of this from watching some tape after the draft and looking at his combine #s, and combine video. That's all. I haven't seen this kid play or on TV or anything.

Then again we looked like a competent offense despite Byron Bell possibly playing some of the most rancid OT you could play, at times. I really felt like the league did him a solid not flagging him more, you could tell he didn't even really care about just reaching for a hold.

Peter King has a man crush on Silatolu

Most notable notes from the 77th National Football League draft:

Best pick, offense: Amini Silatolu, G-T, Midwestern State, 40th overall to Carolina. Multiple teams targeted him late in the first round, and GM Marty Hurney got a great value here. He'll bring an attitude and versatility to the Panthers and should be a 10-year starter wherever Carolina needs him.
