DT is a huge need, but I'm glad they didn't reach on someone who wouldn't be great either. I apparently wasn't paying much attention by the end of the season because I didn't realize that Shirley had a nice sack streak there at the end. He has no history of that production so it will be interesting to see if he can build on it.

    Did he?

    Shirley did???

edit: Hm. So he was pretty disruptive in December. Same amount of sacks as Neblett as well, who I thought was far superior to him. Although Neblett had a ton more tackles.

I really don't think we are good at DT. A bunch of bodies and over a ton in weight does not make us good at that position. Hopefully at least one of the young(er) guys will take a miraculous step up .. . If not we are going to be watching our D get gashed again and our LBs will get beat up again

LOL, I just peed a little.

Shirley converted from G to DT only recently so thats why he has no history, as well as being a rookie too.

Kearse showed a little and we were kinda lucky to get Nebblet back after we cut him I thought.

We have bodies but McClain and Fua need to be showing more than Kearse and Shirley next year.

I like Shirley too, but FYI he started his career at DT. Haven't seen anything from Kearse or Neblett. McClain may be better as a 5 tech. Fua = meh.

My bad, thought Shirley was UDFA for some reason. Older than i thought he was.

Agreed, get better up front and maybe the DB issues wouldn't seem as bad.
