    Your Charlotte Bobcats :
The worst team in the entire history of the NBA.

Congrats Michael, now please move your abomination to Seattle, and never speak of this again.

When 8 wins is an improvement then it shouldn`t be too hard to accomplish.

Other than his name can you imagine anyone making him a sweet deal to move? I mean he can't play anymore so what's the appeal? Unlimited Hanes T-Shirts?

anybody know the lease terms for the arena? i'm sure they've got a few years left. not that there are any cities trying land a team that i'm aware of. i think anaheim is toying with the idea of landing the kings. not sure seattle wants a team at this point and if they did, i'm not sure they'd want the bobcats.

now, what MIGHT make sense is if the nba wanted to expand to europe. who better to sell basketball to the world than michael jordan? but that would mean adding a few more teams since you can't possibly fly to europe for a single game.

The way the arena lease is written, the Bobcats can leave anytime they want, but they're on the hook for the balance due on the arena if they leave. I don't know the exact figure, but it's probably still north of $200 million. If you're talking about going to Seattle, somebody is going to have to build an arena for them too. So you're looking at over half a billion to move them there. Kansas City has an arena that is looking for a team to fill it, but how much better off would the Bobcats be there (or anywhere else, really) than here?

As far as Europe, I don't see taking an existing team and moving them there. If they go to Europe, it'd make more sense to do 6 expansion teams and have 30 teams here. Then do six divisions of six teams with one division being all the European teams.

it'd be really tough to expand 6 teams all at once. especially since they'd end up in the same conference. if they were their own division, then the least horrid of that team would end up the #4 seed in the playoffs and not get a lotto pick and completely be cakewalk for the #5 seeded team. hell, the entire eastern conf playoff bracket would be fucked with 6 new teams.

i think you'd really HAVE to look at having some established teams moving to europe. unless maybe you spawned off a euro league of 6 teams with a goal to eventually fold it into the nba... but that'd be weird.

i guess what it really means is that expanding to europe prolly ain't gonna happen.

Yeah, I don't see Europe as really being realistic in the foreseeable future. I do think that when it happens, it will be some sort of separate league with the winner getting a spot in the NBA playoffs. I guess you could even it out by having the same sort of thing in China, with their champion getting a spot in the West.
