I've become rather convinced it will be either Coples or Kuechly.

If they mean what they say about best available player, then at 9 it's one of the two of them.

The are going to pick Riley Reiff. Count on it.

My gut tells me that Hurney is desparately trying to trade out of #9 so that he can package the extra picks with our 2nd rounder (more likely our first next year) in order to move back into the first. He needs to scratch that itch...

I don't see a trade on the 9th pick, up or down, unless Hurney does something completely outlandish. That pick is basically a no man's land...so just go with the best available talent (which I hope is defensive).

Everything I see is Philadelphia moving up (from Jacksonville) taking Cox, while Miami takes Tannehill. I still think it's
    Indy- Luck
    Washington - RG3
    Minnesota - Kalil
    Cleveland - Richardson
    Tampa - Claiborne
    St Louis - Blackmon
    Philadelphia - Cox
    Miami - Tannehill
Panthers - Fuck I'm torn. I just don't think a DT is there that's worth the 9th pick. I hope that Beason is close to himself but losing Connor makes Kuechly sound good. But Coples is going to be the pick even though I still have reservations. I want DeCastro

It really depends on the Panthers scouting of Coples. If they think he will give the effort, he's absolutely worth the 9th pick based on his talent and size. If they have doubts (and the draft falls as you showed here), it would come down to Keuchly and DeCastro. I tend to favor DeCastro between those two myself, and I don't think I've heard a fan or analyst yet that would hate that pick.

They questioned Peppers motor on draft date as well not to mention during the franchise tag and such. I am not sure who on the defense will step up and get in his face if he starts slacking off. Beason? This team IMO, is sorely lacking in a hard ass to police the team. Minter and Buckner were for a while. I don't don't know if DeCastro can be but I do like his demeanor

thank god someone finally started a thread speculating on who the panthers might take with their first-round pick. usually that happens well before the last couple days leading up to the draft.

I know LB is a need but would much rather pass on Kuechly at #9. Just not sure he will fit in. We don't want to move Beason to WLB and Kuechly is better suited for the inside as well. That would leave someone playing out of position.

There is decent depth. Lavonte David, Zack Brown and Mychal Kendricks are options in the 2nd. There will be someone pretty good available in the 4th as well as OLB in the 4-3 seems to be a position that gets passed up more frequently.

I like the idea of Coples and Johnson on the outside with Hardy, Keiser and Applewhite coming in.
