    Yeah I imagine them getting rid of Goodson. His fumbling got him into the Rivera dog house which is unfortunate. He was a good back, but I imagine he will be gone.

    Tolbert is a nice back. He's not the 'scat back' Rivera was quoted as saying he wanted but Chud and Rivera have familiarity with him being from SD. Just not sure where he fits in. 3rd down back? Insurance in case JStew won't be back?

    edit: does he play FB? Brings something that Fiametta didn't? He'd look good running the annexation of puerto rico

    Tweets indicate he's a fall-back against re-signing Stewart next year - Tolbert has an option.

    Sounds versatile - can fill some of Shockey's role even.

    So we have two first round picks at running back and a QB who runs a lot and still need to sign a free agent running back? They better be planning to move one of our running backs. If not then this makes no sense at all.

    Agent Joel Turner says Tolbert “left more than $1 million on the table” to join Carolina because he was so excited about the fit.

    also, from twitter:

    Wouldn’t project Tolbert signing as immediate indication CAR will trade J Stewart. Could be some unique RB packages in mind and Tolbert…

    Also brings a lot of productivity to all special teams units. Could see some of Newton/Williams/Stewart/Tolbert all on field at once

    The Tolbert signing is all about versatility – can play RB, FB, H, has great hands catching ball, and special teams. Would be shocked if…

    The Panthers made any attempts to trade another RB. They’re just adding weapons at a good value in terms of price.

    I really think the 2 year option on Tolbert is very telling. They want to resign Stewart, if the price isn’t right you accept option.
