    He probably would have hit those escalators anyway.

    Im not mad at Munnerlyn, he just needs to be the #3 guy not the #2.

    What was he, a seventh rounder?

    You shouldn't. Weddle would have helped the team win more games, especially since Cam & Stewart made DeAngelo expendable. Hell, DW is the one current Panthers player whose jersey I own, but it was a mistake to spend even half that much bringing him back.

    Yep 7th round.

    If he doesn't start, I doubt he hits them even though I don't really know what was in the contract. It's Hurney, so maybe he'd have hit them anyway.

    Not mad at him at all. I like him being on the team myself, just not starting. Fine with him as depth, 3rd or 4th CB.

    Im thinking with the way defenses or should i say offenses are going as the 3rd guy he would have been on the field alot anyway.

    As a 7th rounder they probably werent expecting him to be around a long time. He's earned it unlike some of the 2nd and 3rd rounders we had to pay.

    I remember the Newman/Trufant draft discussions.

    Both are now released and Gross is still ticking here in Carolina.

    We made the right call that day.

    Kevin Williams & Terrell Suggs went the two picks after Gross and have been substantially more valuable, but sure, Jordan has been adequate if overpaid.

    At the time we had Buck and Jenkins, not exactly in need of DT. And were pretty strong at LB, on defense overall really, with needs on offense. So I get it.

    My boi DGantt is reporting that Jim Clausen will not be immediately cut.
    The 923K roster bonus due in 2 weeks is not entirely accurate info.

    Interesting. Looks like they can either pay the roster bonus or guarantee a portion of his salary in 2012 (348,000) and all of his salary in 2013 (575,000) which totals the $923k. I think they can also cut him outright and owe him nothing and the remaining portion of his signing bonus would excalate.

    edit....im not sure what i am looking at. But there seems to be a connection between guaranteed base salary amounts and the roster bonus. I'll just wait for this to shake out.
