You can blame it on JR to the extent that he turned over the GM reigns to Capers when Polian left, but the decisions were all Capers handiwork. The Gilbert trade is probably in the top 5 worst moves in league history, let alone Panthers history. Only worse moves are probably Ditka trading his whole draft for Ricky Williams and the Hershel Walker trade.

The Skins wont feel the pinch this year (bar the second rounder). They'll be as excited as we were as long as he lives up to the #2 overall pick.

But to expect what Cam did, no, not going to happen.

It'll hurt in the subsequent drafts when they've got no first rounders to build around him. So i guess Snyder goes back to signing old guys past their prime for way too much.

Hurney has shafted us in recent drafts but for Redskins fans its seems like its been years since they had all their picks.

Now Im hearing rumors of Marty possibly trading up again for Kalil or Claiborne, I hope to god he doesnt do it.

Noooooo! Marty, do yourself a favor and go look at who we're missing out on in the 3rd this year (Brandon Washington, Mitchell Schwartz, Bobby Wagner, Travis Lewis) and ask yourself if you want to do that again next year? SMH...

Does the same go for Luck or are you only comparing the black guys?

If RG3 completes 49% of his passes, Skins don't make the play-offs. Tim-bow was a nice story, people should get over it.

Luck will have big expectations and pressure, replacing Manning and being #1 overall with the hype around him the last two years but Indy didn't give up all those picks for him.

RGIII is walking into a shitstorm.

[IMG] In the future please do not argue with me. When I correct you, you can either thank me for enlightening you or just pretend that you never said the thing I corrected. By talking back and making excuses for your idiotic comment you have only shined a bigger spotlight on your ignorance and added to the list of moronic posts.

Carruth was actually reasonably productive as a player, and it's absurd to blame Capers for not knowing that he would become a murderer. Meanwhile Peter was definitely a horrible choice in the first round, but Hurney spent a first rounder to get Everette Brown. He also spent a first and second to get Jeff Otah, plus the #33 to get Armanti Edwards and tried to trade what would become the #1 overall pick to move up for Jimmy Clausen. And that's before you even get to all the ridiculous contracts he's given out, including $35.5 million to a guy coming off of two consecutive ACL tears who would then tear a third. No one who isn't a complete and utter moron thinks that Capers' admittedly disastrous tenure as a GM comes anywhere close to the unbelievable devastation wrought by Marty Hurney.

You'd come out of this looking less foolish if you'd just go ahead admit that you didn't start paying attention to the Panthers until their Superbowl run and that you have no clue how bad the Capers GM years were. Every mistake Hurney has made added together doesn't add up to Caper's single worst mistake: Two 1st round picks and $47 million (1998 dollars) for a overrated DT who had sat out a year of football rather than play for the Redskins franchise tender. All of Capers other blunders are just icing on the cake in any rational judgment of who's the worst GM in Panthers history.

What you should do instead of digging yourself a deeper hole is to say that the Sean Gilbert trade was the single worst move in the history of the franchise, which is a defensible statement, but trying to pretend that it and drafting Carruth/Peters somehow collectively adds up to more than the litany of unbelievable decisions Hurney has made makes you look ridiculous. Stop clowning yourself and chalk your absurd statement up to a moment of temporary insanity. Hurney's draft mistakes alone were more damaging to the Panthers than Capers', and when you add Marty's laundry list of idiotic contracts then the comparison becomes laughable.

Capers in no way compares to Hurney. A bad hair piece and horrible Gilbert trade pale in comparision to Hurneys idiocy. I dont agree with Collin alot, but in this case Id agree your full of shit.
