Trading down

    It might depend on the coin flip. If we're at #8 then there will be a quality player available, but at #9 I'm not so sure. I personally am not keen on trading down, especially more than a few spots. This draft gets really weak after the first 15 or so.

    The local market is a pretty small part of a teams total revenue these days. Consider this:

    If you estimate that the average price of a Panthers stadium ticket is $80 and assume the Panthers sold out 75K seats for 10 home games, that's $60 mill...only about half the money needed just to pay the players salaries.

    Throw in all the concessions and merchandising too though. They also get a share of the TV revenues.

    They split the TV revenues evenly. So what I was getting at is that the local market doesn't have a huge effect on how much money teams have to pay to keep "super stars".

    Several of those guys in the top 15 will bust. You see a slam dunk that will be there at 8?

    I would love to trade down. Love it. Doubt it happens though, unless someone falls to us.
