Granted, but the conference is just better right now.

MIA plays NE twice a year and that's enough reason alone to choose STL, then you add the fact STL would give him more control and a the #2 draft pick. The only reason I believe it's taking so long is the fact Fisher prefers the AFC to the NFC and big named teams like IND and NE don't scare him. I can see him taking the MIA job even though it would be a much tougher place to win quickly.

no doubt. similar to the way the balance of power has shifted back east in the NBA, the NFC has regained formidability at the top.

Latest is that Fisher is going to Miami. Chud is looking like the #1 fallback choice in St Louis.

This sucks. However, Rivera was smart enough to pick a good one in Chud, have to hope he has another ace up his sleeve.

I don't know that I'd say #1 fallback, he wasn't even involved in the first round of interviews. That was Fisher, Dennis Allen, and Ray Horton (token).

I guess that the Rams are also interviewing Saints Running Game Coordinator (always thought that title was stupid) Aaron Kromer, which is another new thing.

It's somewhat interesting that none of the other coaches we interviewed have been re-interviewed since. Fewell hasn't had a great year, but he's decent enough quality. It's been a bizarre year for hiring anyway.

fair enough with playing NE, and the #2 is a good place to go up. You essentially guarantee penciling in Blackmon or Kalil, or if stupid enough to want something different, you could guarantee that player. I mean, there's no way that doesn't come up as an interview question, an important one.

edit- I wonder whether coaches that are out of the league do much scouting or regular preparing.

Okay, I should have said "to me" after "#1 fallback". I just have that feeling.

I'd stay far away from Miami from a football standpoint, but if Fisher is just looking for a huge payday before retirement, then that's the place to go.

Me too. There aren't any established veteran coaches left besides Fisher, so the next option is probably a young gun and Chud is the hottest name out there right now, regardless of the fact that he might just be a great OC and have no idea about being a head coach.

Is Fisher single? If so, those Dolphins cheerleaders are choice.
