I know that the Saints game hurts, and that shouldn't matter, but before that game, looking at the QBR for our back eight (incl nickel), and I'm just horrified.

Maybe it's the additional man coverage snaps, or just more snaps, but Munnerlyn went from a 74 QBR - pretty respectable, and you would assume worth more snaps - to 126, one of the worst.

Interesting, that Martin's season was better than Godfrey's.

You're not alone in being an idiot. Although you've by far supplanted Thelt as the biggest moron on the board.

Yeah, that squares with my subjective impression. Martin had a horrific game against NO, but Godfrey was terrible most of the season. It annoys me that it's unlikely the team will change from those two anytime soon. At least at corner there is a realistic chance of adding a second starter opposite Gamble. I'm still a believer that Munnerlyn is a contributor if you limit what you ask him to do, but everyone else besides Gamble was a huge disappointment in that secondary. I was a fan of Butler coming out of Connecticut, but he was just as bad as the rest.

munnerlyn is an adequate nickle/dime db and special teams contributor. should not be starting though. no way.

touching on a previous post, there is no good reason to draft a g with a top 10 pick. none. additionally, at some point you have to be able to make a stop. arena football..not so much. nfl..different story.

to be exceedingly honest, there was very little in the way of quality defensive talent in the starting 11 this year. backups and special teamers, which are fine and all, but thats not how you build a 1st string defense.

three top 90 guys in the secondary, though. Granted there should be more this time next year. Plus Hogan.

    Absolutely on guard at 9.

    Homework:

    1. 7-10 bad plays by Godfrey, documented (video preferred)
    2. 5 good plays by Josh Wilson, same
    3. Is Tim Tebow as good as Cam Newton at playing the QB position?

    interesting.

Certainly the most bizarre of our interviews. But, SF had a good defense wth him under Singletary, which certainly didn't seem to have much to do with Singletary.
