He's not being that inaccurate. Inconsistent at times, but he's at 60% which is good in this offense.
I dunno. I feel like I was wrong. I feel like he's been a lot better.

yeah, that's what I don't get, douchebags like this that have to qualify anything. Talks about each incompletion as if that's almost all that happened, plus a rushing TD, but let's not worry about those three touchdowns.

    No.
The problem I had with Nolan's analysis was not that it was anti-Cam. It's that it was clearly agenda-driven, and he wasn't doing a very good job (if I recall) documenting sources while borderline slandering Newton.

He was far removed from the Auburn sidelines in 2010, whereas his coaches, teammates, and that old fuckin' coot Gil Brandt were with him almost daily.

Like I said, that old fucker Brandt won me over one night on NFL Radio, when he told a story about Newton doing various charitable and good-natured things (without taking credit) during his stay at AU.

I have no doubt Newton is probably a douche at times. I was at camp with Person, Gantt (HAAAAAAAAAAY!), Sorensen, Reed.....we didn't talk about it openly, but Cam--even then--was treated like the president. Security around him while he walked back and forth to the field. His presser at fan-fest (which I snuck video of on my blackberry--and should probably post here), was very "by the book", and he was whisked in and out quickly. Rivera and Smitty stayed a little after and chatted.

Whatever. Kid has scored like 200 points this year alone. As opposed to:

2010, when the Carolina Panthers scored 160 points in 16 games.

The stat line looks fine, but we've all seen enough games to know that the inaccurate tag was true. He's good on deep vertical routes and dump offs, but we knew that already. It would be neat to see numbers on his completion percentage for passes less than 20 but more than 5 yards, since it seems to me like he was pretty bad on those this season. I remember a lot of air-mailed throws to on 10 yard outs and curls to his left.

Yeah, it was douchey. He's the only one I can remember besides Thelt who brought up a JaMarcus Russel comparison, which always made no sense. Sometimes you just whiff on a guy, like I did on DeMarco Murray and A.J. Green. But I explained exactly why I had my doubts regarding those players, my doubts just turned out to be wrong.

who needs silly things like that?
It's amazing, after seeing Clausen do almost nothing, and having been like 52% on throws of less than nine yards, we'll argue for a decade whether or not it's OK to say nice things about Cam Newton.

I don't think anyone had argued he was perfect intermediately. I specifically said inconsistent, too. He's got room to grow there. But, very Nawrockian cherry pick of information, given that the same page shows weird things like "100+ QB ratings on makeable third downs" which is pretty solid for a rookie QB.

Pull the dildo out of your ass and stop being such a bitch. Good lord. It's not cherry picking information at all, it's a valid and accurate criticism. I even said it before seeing the stats which ended up proving me correct. Cam isn't an accurate passer yet, his completion percentage just got inflated by a lot of dump offs. I'm not saying that he'll never get better, but the link shows that Cam has a problem with intermediate throws, which confirmed what I thought. It's relevant, important, and something Newton needs to work on.

it seemed like a very specific thing to criticize, and you spend an exceptional amount of time in criticism and very little time on anything good. To me it's very similar.
It's not uninteresting or useless information, we agree it's gotta improve, but it's very tailored.

Which is why it's all the more awesome that I was proven correct.

Except not at all. Abusive already pointed out that Nawrocki's criticism was vague bullshit to justify his agenda. You're just wanting to be a dick by comparing me to him.

You're correct. Nawrocki occasionally suggested Cam has had success. :chinese:
