Would never see it happening, but I'd gladly trade Chud for Norv Turner. They're both pretty fantastic.

Yeah SD would be a threat to go after him. Jax too, though I doubt he'd want that one, Gabbert is a tough project. Not much at WR there either. As far as SD, well, there's AJ Smith who I'd be leery of working under.

I'd think if he stuck around and the team made the playoffs next year, and showed well in them, he could write his ticket at a number of places. IMO, that would be the smart play.

That's actually a good point. I don't see Norv getting another HC job.

San Diego "supposedly" has made serious overtures towards Cowher. I also heard via ESPN radio that Smith is gone and could be headed to Cleveland (I think). Smith is a royal dick

Word is that Smith may get fired as well.

I really, really don't see Norv wanting to be OC given his age and how much money he's made. It's either TV or retirement.

The Big Cat needs to pony up some money to Chud, maybe give him an assistant HC title. I'd rather overpay good coaches than mediocre players. Letting JDR go after a year set us back, just hope theyve learned.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this. JDR got a head coaching job. We didn't 'let' him leave. And we played in the super bowl the following year.

If Chud gets an opportunity to be a Head Coach somewhere in the league, you can't stand in his way. As much as it would suck to lose him, there's not much you can do. Even with the title of OC/Assistand HC, that is not going to keep him from taking a head job if it were offered.

Jack Del Rio was always ridiculously overrated as a defensive coordinator. Fans liked him because he jumped up and down a lot on the sidelines.

Teams don't pay first time HC over the top money. You cant make him stay but you can sell yourself to him and hang on a year or two until Cam can better develop in one offense. You don't have to be a defeatist and just let your talented young coaches go.

Rivera got 11.3 mil over four years to be the head coach. that money is guaranteed. you can't give that kind of scratch to Chud to keep him around another year or two.

Let me say this again. Going from OC/Assistant HC to Head Coach is a promotion. If Chud has an opportunity to be a Head Coach in the NFL, he is most likely going to take it. And there is nothing that JR or RR can do.
