It's the same people bitching about Gamble, year after year.

    Evan Mathis. Damn.

Did Mathis get cut at some point or just leave in free agency? Bummer. And while Gamble has played well, I think those numbers have something to do with the other corners being so shitty.

    Googled it.

    Released in '08.

Also released late in '08 by Miami. Late bloomer I guess.

the only issue I would have with targets as a barometer is that it has to be taken in the context of the whole defense...had our run D been above average, had Munnerlyn not been a liability, had TE's not given us much trouble, teams would have likley thrown on Gamble more. Some of that was Gamble's good play, some of it was that the matchups elsewhere were much more advantageous. Put Gamble in Green Bay's defense, which stops the run and gives up yards to the pass, & you'd get a much better idea of where he stacks up as a corner in this league.

    that's not realistic, though.
targets aren't it by itself, but the completion % helps too. He's definitely our best DB, though.

yeah, not a very good example, more of a thought experiment.

definitely agree on % completion and that he's our best corner. I'm sure the Patriots would love to have him.

Gamble's been up and down here, but this year he's been more than adequate, and whoever's paid a bit of attention would know he's played at a pro bowl level.

They guy is a fucking baller. Not so sure why we are trying to find excuses why he's not really as good (like omgz the split endz dont get throwed too as much!!111) like some Sherlock Holmes ************ with a magnifying glass at the open laptop, and then go OMHOLYGODZ EVEN MATHIS ALL OV A SUDDEN BECAIM GUD! and ignoring the fact he's blocking for a RB stuck in beast mode. Nevermind the QBs get killed over there. Jeez, Evan Mathis wrocks but Gamble sucks. This from a site which is cool and all, but won't give Babin a spot on the roster?

For fuck's sake, we have some stupid shit going on here DAILY. All done like we're a bunch of smart marks analyzing this game pretending we're in the know and shit. If it's not Ted Stiker sucking Collin's dick desperately trying to earn some begrudging respect, it's something like this: giving our best DB, and a pro bowl quality corner shit.
