So many parallels between this team and a combo of Carolina's 02/03 seasons. Shorten the game. Try to limit mistakes. Play sound defense. Good special teams. Margin for error is razor thin, whereas--take the 2011 Panthers: when the entire team (albeit 1/3 of it on IR) is clicking, they can beat any team they play, and dominate most .500 or below teams (Tampa, Washington...hell, Houston).

Apples and Oranges here. You want Orton? Ok, that works. The offense works differently, in that case. You want Tebow? Sure, do it. Credit to their staff for making the offense as basic as possible for Tebow to have success, which can be defined in many ways.

I'd be curious to see (Pass/Rush) how much of his team's offensive yardage he has accounted for. The 48% thing is problematic, but if you're only throwing 15 times a game, you're not tossing 20+ incompletions, 2-3 of which could be picks. On the other hand: if you throw 15-20 times a game, it's almost inexcusable (particularly in their offense) to miss more than 1/2 of your targets.

The whole "HE'S JUST A WINNER/HE FINDS WAYS TO WIN" tag is horseshit. They said that about Jake, too. Truth about Jake: he was erratic, took chances, and was the benefactor of Steve Smith. He also had pretty damn good 2-minute game management, which Tebow appears to have. Having proper 2-minute/situational game management skills is a much better way to frame things than "MAGIC", or "WINNER", or "PRAISE JESUS".

Although, I don't think Tebow and Jake share the same belief in straying from foul language.

Every week, I simply ask myself (objectively): If I was running a franchise, would I want Newton or Tebow. Every week this year, I have said Newton.

No idea why you would compare Tebow to Delhomme. Jake threw shit up for grabs and committed 130 turnovers in his time with the Panthers (compared with 132 touchdowns). The reality is that Tim had a lot more success as a passer last season in that offense with Brandon Lloyd catching passes. Tebow is unquestionably inaccurate, but Denver's receivers rank near the top of the league in drops as well.

But is anyone really answering any differently?

Let's see, a non conventional qb with a low completion percentage who was somewhat of a cult hero for a short span of time that found some success. 2.0 meaning more advanced than Kordell. Now that I've spelled that out for you do yourself a favor and quit trying to berate me. Youre not being fair to yourself. It's like when you were trying to leapfrog Collin as the resident curmudgeon and you came to know you were embarrassingly out of your league. Funny how you go out of your way to agree with him or echo his point of view.

I don't care whether you like what I have to say or not. Just understand you're an idiot and accept the fact you, in no way, shape, or form are intelligent enough to critique any take I, or anyone here for that matter, has on a particular issue. Honestly, as for being any kind of authority on football your rank here is pretty low. You're looking up a Thelt.

I'd go on, but you're not worth typing anymore.

Really the similarity to Delhomme is the ability to win games at the end. Yes, jake threw shit up there, but there was a span before the elbow injury where he was money in the 2 minute drill. Some guys just don't have that, Cam doesn't at this point. Tim does and in that respect he and jake are alike.

The Delhomme comparison was in the context of late-game management, not mechanics/or anything else. Jake led some ballsy drives to win some big games, and he fucked some things up. Tebow, when it's all said and done, will have the same label.

Drops. Yep, they've happened. No argument here.

As for the Tebow/Cam question, calm down brotha. Wasn't directed at you. Just the sickening national media, in general.

Remember the Delhomme thread? Collin will never look at Delhomme objectively. It's funny how he seems to like Teebow an unconventional QB. Guess anybody can change, very surprising though.

Popular myth, but it's because people tend to remember the successes and forget the failures. Delhomme's 4th quarter QB rating was actually lower than his 1st or 2nd, and was the quarter in which he had the most interceptions.

It's ironic that you say so when my strength is the fact that I'm so much more objective than someone like you. The stats back me up, not you.

The media isn't saying that either, though. No one is putting Tebow over Cam except perhaps some really delusional Broncos fans.

    Come on man, really?
You're as objective as Rush Limbaugh at a gay pride rally. You must be a baseball fan to be so obsessed with stats. You use stats to throw out absolutes, not to be objective. Anyone who's read this board in the last 10 years or so knows that to be true. And by the way, anyone who read that thread knows how you ranted on and on about how bad he was even when we were winning.
Go back and read the thread, quote some shit from it. Your own words back me up. I'm much more formidable than your usual victims here...don't fuck with me....lol

Denver is a fluke team that will probably get crushed by Pittsburgh or B'more in the playoffs. Tebow is a 48% passer on an 8-6 team in a bad division. It's a story that needs to go away.
