Why is completion percentage proof that Tim Tebow is a bad quarterback, but somehow doesn't mean the same about Skelton?

In that offense, Tebow should be completing more. It's not like he's going downfield like us.

And, when you have to get defensive about the guy enough to use Skelton, clearly we're not talking about the second Joe Montana just yet. But, Skelton was probably told he can't play in this league, he's having some team success, he doesn't have that much worse top stats than Tebow. Same situation that people are championing Tebow for, yes?

Uh ... yes he does. It just shows your hypocrisy on the subject. I don't know your specific motive for bashing Tebow, but it does go back to your tendency to have emotional judgments about players rather than being able to rationally look at the facts. Tebow is not an accurate passer, but that doesn't mean he's a bad quarterback. He takes care of the football and he gets first downs. Denver isn't winning in spite of him.

His QBR is worse because of INTs, but his comp% is higher, his yards/attempt is higher, his TD% is higher, and he has no business being in the same conversation as a first round pick.

I'm not "bashing" Tebow by saying he's not playing that well. QB rating, sure, that's great, but I've never seen someone who will quibble on the minutae of quarterback play go to the mat so hard to defend a guy who hasn't completed 50% of his passes.

Avoiding turnovers is part of being a good quarterback. And you still haven't answered why completion percentage is so important for Tebow but apparently not important at all for Skelton. Go back and reread what you said about the two of them. You bashed Tebow and praised Skelton, but Tebow has clearly been a much better quarterback this season. And if you want to see truly awful quarterback numbers, look at Skelton's when he's throwing to anyone besides Larry Fitzgerald.

Reread the thread because yes you have been bashing the shit out of him.

He contributed to the wins against Philadelphia and San Francisco, but unless you also want to add St. Louis then that's pretty much it.

    .
Oh, I totally agree. It's the reason a much more talented QB in Tebow, who is playing poorly, has a higher QB rating despite being unable to complete every second pass.

It is for both. I'm not saying John Skelton is an NFL starter, FWIW. I'm saying he's playing above expectation, and it's really comical that this has become so critical that there's actually some sort of Skelton holywar. When he and Tebow are certainly doing more that's similar than, say, an entrenched starter v/s same.

saying he's not playing that well is not bashing him. But, again be defensive of the guy for no reason.

Skelton is just an easy way to point out that you're being a hypocrite. According to you, completion percentage only matters for Tebow and not Skelton.
