Three new votes for Cam, close the poll please. And change their votes to dukey.

Man, Cam is still by far the best. It doesn't help that his OC puts the entire game on his shoulders most of the game, and that overall, we're a pretty horribly coached team.

He throws a lot of picks, because we seem to think he has to do everything, and we call the games as such.

I may be totally wrong, but hold the opinion that they made a conscious decision to forgo more wins in favor of accelerating Newton's development. I've said it before, still think so. Not sure if I like it or not, next year will give a better perspective. It will give us a better draft position, at least.

Interesting. I don't believe that, but it's an interesting theory.

Blaine Gabbert being selected 10th overall proves that most GM's and coaches don't actually watch film for the draft. They base their opinions on ESPN and NFL Network just like 99% of the world.

It used to annoy me when people would say "if you really knew as much as you think you do you'd be working in the NFL," not because it was an insult to me but rather because it's so obvious that many NFL front offices have no clue what they're doing. Being in a position of power doesn't mean you know something, it means you know someone.

interesting thread... but this board was even more wrong about Steve Smith... maybe 10 years from now when we look back on Cam's career with the Panthers, it'll be even more impressive

Cam Newton won't be here in 10 years. I'm not even sure the Panthers will be here in 10 years.

I have to agree on both counts. Newton will definitely be gone within hours of the expiration of his first "chump change" contract and go where Bus Cook can help him become an "icon". Icons have stuff like super bowl rings and Manning money and he won't get that stuff in Carolina.
I don't know a ton about your owner but what are the chances that he will be healthy enough to run a NFL franchise even 5 years from now? Any guesses as to what happens next when Richardson is gone?

BTW, Didn't he give his own sons the boot?
